My Favorite Things -Guest Designer- Day 2

Hello everyone!!

This is me Kristina from Kristina’s Art Corner again.
For today I also have three different projects. One of them can be put in CAS category, even it actually is not.
Other two projects are complex and complicated but the effect they make…you will see!
With those special projects I wanted to express special gratitude and to give thanks to MFT people for trusting in me and giving me a chance to be a guest designer.

http://www.mftstamps.com/blog/heart-stealing-projects-from-kristina/

I also wanted to show how MFT products can be used to create complex scenes since it is so easy using them together. Even though for these projects I needed couple of days I enjoyed every second of creative process.
Thanks a bunch MFT for letting me be a part of this amazing team, even for a day or two, and making my dreams come true!

You Have My Heart card

When I started this card I was not sure how it’s going to look in the end, but I knew I wanted bunch of multicolored hearts! So I decided to play with color and have fun in the process!
I have cut out white panel using Blueprints 29 since I wanted to have stitched border. Then, with the new Stitched Heart Grid die-namics I die cut the same panel twice – to get this nice panel filled with cute little die cut hearts.
With help of my mini ink blending tool, I have inked all of the hearts – and there is 32 of them! Going slowly I started to realize that is exact number of the distress ink colors that I have! How fun is that?!
That way, there is no repetition of color and the order of them is just my personal preference. OK, there is one that repeats itself! It’s a little red heart that you can see again down on the sentiment!

For all the hearts I used Wink of Stella Clear Glitter Pen and on the little red hearth I used Glossy Accent as well.
I arranged everything on the panel, and now was the time for the sentiment. I used Strike Up The Band stamp set and Ewe Are The Best stamp set to combine words and make unique sentiment that I stamped with black ink. I have cut out the sentiment panel with Blueprints 29 as well. I decided to tie up the sentiment with base of the card so I used black cardstock for the base, and adhere my white panel on it with some foam tape.
At the end, I was very pleased with this card, I love how colorful hearts look on the white panel and the black base, but most of all I had so much fun!

I love You Deerly – Tunnel card

For this card I „stole“ the idea from amazing Vicky Papaioannou and her Winter tunnel book.  So I decided to recreate this fabulous idea, but in a form of card! First, I cut out 4 same panels from light blue cardstock.
Than I used Inside & Out Stitched Oval Stax Die-namics to make oval „window“ on 3 panels, in 3 different sizes. That way, I made illusion of a tunnel.

From the white cardstock I have cut out the trees from Solid Birch Trees die-namics. For the snowy hills I used also white cardstock and Stitched Basic Edges 2 die-namics. I decided to cut out the „hills“ in different heights so I can create illusion of landscape and give it some depth.
All of the other parts of the card are from Deer Friends stamp set.
To stamp the images of deers with Vintage photo distress ink, and to get the shadow effect on the bottom of the image, I used MFT Premium Dye ink Hot Fuge. For the lake, and whole front blue panel I used distress inks.
Other images from that stamp set that I used, I stamped with VersaMark ink on the same light blue cardstock that I used for the panels, and then embossed with white embossing powder.
As a finishing touch, to get a frosty look I used Wink of Stella Clear Glitter Pen.
To make it a true winter scene I added some snow. Snowflakes are die cuts form Snowfall Vertical Die-namics and I glued them one by one with Multi Medium Matte randomly on all panels.
And so the card came together! I glued each panel on top of the other, putting the elements in between, making sure that the largest circle is in the front, and the smallest to the back.

Winter Woods Tale- Special project

Can you imagine a deer family that comes to the water spring to drink but finds out that the water is already occupied by a young otter family?
This is how I pictured it!

The initial idea for this project was to make a three-fold card.  As I planned my realization I noticed that I want to put a bunch of elements on the panel so it would get too bulky and would not be able to close.
So I have ended up with a large panel reinforced with the same shape base. It’s a pretty large piece and the dimensions are 30×15 cm (12×6 inch).
Top portion of the card is done with Stitched Scallop Basic Edges 2 die-namics. With Stitched Basic Edge 2 I made snowy hills and sky in the background. With the same die, in the bottom left corner I made a little pond, and used two shades of distress inks.
This is where the Otterly Love You stamps set and coordinating dies from January release come to play!

Otters and rocks I have stamped with black ink and colored them with my alcohol markers and used coordinating dies to cut them out on my manual die cutting machine. The shrubs in the lake I have stamped with light green ink and used Nuvo Crystal Drops Gloss Apple Green to get effect of the little berries on the top of the shrubs.

All of the other stamps from Deer Friends stamp set are stamped with black ink, colored with alcohol markers and die cut with coordinating dies.

To make the whole scene I added the mountains from Snow-Capped Mountains Die-namics and Solid Birch Trees Die-namics for the trees to make the effect of the woods. Trees are colored with distress inks with mini ink blending tool.

Of course, there is a Wink Of Stella Clear Glitter Pen since there can’t be enough of shimmer and shine in the winter scene. All of the elements are mounted on the base with Score tape, Foam tape or Multi Medium Matte.
I hope you like this project of mine, and that it would inspire you to make something unusual and interesting.
I know this scene with get its frame and be placed on a display, alongside with my other favorite projects.
So…that’s it! Once again I want to express my gratitude to the MFT people for giving me the chance and trusting in me.
I hope I lived up to the expectations. It was a great pleasure and honor to be here with you all.
Thanks a bunch on beautiful new releases each month which allow us to enjoy our hobby.
Be creative every day and enjoy!
Many hugs and kisses from Sweden!

Yours truly
Kristina!
