Herbarium On Canvas!!!

Hello everyone!!!

Today I have Amazing Project to share with you. This is not the first time I’ve worked on canvas but I have to admit that I haven’t used this technique for years. From the first moment I saw Wildflowers2 die set by Tim Holtz I knew I have to do something on canvas. Just perfect for Mix Media technique. I, as a former biology student, have always been facinated with herbarium and so I decided to try to make my herbarium on canvas. I hope you like it!!!

herbarium

First I die cut amazing flowers from Bristol cardstock, after that I applied Distress ink and Distress oxide ink with blending tool. I used Peeled Paint, Forest Moss, Vintage Photo, Brushed Corduroy Distress inks and Fossilized Amber, Wild Honey, Spiced Marmalade, Fired Brick, Faded Jeans, Walnut Stain Distress Oxide inks by Tim Holtz and Ranger. I also added some details on flowers with watercolor pencils.

I applied Walnut Stain to the edges of the canvas too and after that I added paterrned paper with Mod Podge. I also used Mod Podge to add flowers on canvas. I didn’t have right washi tape so I made my own using patterned paper form Simon Says Stamp card kit (the old newspaper). After that I added the names of some flowers using Prima Statement Stickers.
